Photo Booth Hire — frequently asked questions

Does a photo booth work at a Tuscan wedding?
It works best where there is a sheltered, lit spot that guests pass naturally — a loggia, a courtyard, the edge of a terrace. It works badly in full sun, in the middle of a dinner, or somewhere guests have to be sent. Ask the venue where it would stand before you book one.
What do we need to provide?
Normally power, a level surface, and cover from sun and rain. Ask the supplier for the footprint and the power requirement, and check both with the venue — in a historic building or an open garden, a socket in the right place is not something to assume. Ask how long setup takes and when they need access.
What should the quote cover?
The hours of operation and the overtime rate, whether an attendant is present throughout, prints on the night or digital files afterwards or both, when the files arrive, and whether props, backdrop and a guest album are included or extra. Ask whether the figure includes IVA.
Is it worth it if we have a photographer?
They do different jobs. The photographer documents the day; a booth gives guests something to do and produces pictures the couple are not in. If the budget is tight it is a clear candidate to cut — but at a destination wedding, where guests have travelled and know few other people, it earns more than it does at home.
