Best Wedding Venues in Tuscany (Villas, Castles, Vineyards)
From Renaissance villas to medieval castles and vineyard estates — discover the most stunning wedding venues across Tuscany.
Tuscany's wedding venues are the stuff of dreams. Whether you envision an intimate dinner in a walled garden, a grand celebration in a Renaissance palazzo, or a wine-soaked party at a vineyard estate, there's a perfect venue for every couple.
We have not visited these venues. What we have done is read what each of them publishes about itself and recorded the source — and when we checked twenty-six of the venues listed on this site, three published a capacity, two said whether a legal ceremony could take place there, and none published a price. This page describes the kinds of property you will be shown and what to ask each of them. It is not a ranking, and we do not take payment for a position in it.
Types of Wedding Venues in Tuscany
Villas
Grand private estates with gardens, pools and historic interiors, often available for exclusive weekend hire. None of the villas we list publishes a price; what varies most is whether the legal ceremony can take place there at all, which the comune decides rather than the villa.
Castles (Castelli)
Medieval fortresses and Renaissance castles with dramatic architecture and long views. Capacities where published run high — one castle near Florence is listed at 200 outdoors and 150 seated indoors — but prices are not published by any castle on this site.
Borgos
Restored hamlets with several buildings, accommodation and a village atmosphere, suited to multi-day celebrations. One in Chianti offers the entire village with full exclusivity for up to 100 people, with an eighteenth-century villa sleeping 35. Prices are quoted per couple.
Vineyards (Tenute)
Working wine estates among the vines, where weddings sit alongside the actual business. Worth knowing: late September and early October are harvest, when the estate is busiest with the work that pays for it. Ask what that means for your day. Prices are quoted per couple.
Luxury Hotels
Five-star properties with events teams and accommodation on site — one estate near Siena lists 22 rooms and suites, two restaurants and a spa across a 300-acre property. Prices are quoted per couple and are not published.

Venue Costs: What to Expect
We have removed the seasonal price table that used to sit here. We checked twenty-six of the venues listed on this site: not one publishes a wedding price, so the table had nothing behind it.
The seasonal effect it was trying to describe is real, and it is visible where figures *are* published — in the comune's own tariffs, which rise from weekday mornings to Saturday afternoons. In Lucca a non-resident pays €480 on a weekday morning and €1,000 on a Saturday afternoon for the same room. Expect private venues to move in the same direction, and ask each one directly.
Prices vary dramatically based on location, prestige and inclusions.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a venue?
12–18 months for peak season (May–October). Off-season dates may be available with 6 months' notice.
Can I get married outdoors at any venue?
Symbolic ceremonies can be held anywhere on the property. Civil ceremonies require an approved outdoor space — check with your planner.
Do venues include accommodation?
Many villas, borgos and estates include on-site rooms. Hotels obviously do. Agriturismos typically have some rooms. Confirm exact capacity.
What's the difference between a borgo and a villa?
A borgo is a restored medieval village with multiple buildings. A villa is typically a single grand building with grounds. Borgos often feel more immersive; villas feel more formal.
Can I visit before booking?
Highly recommended. If you can't travel to Italy, request a detailed video tour and ask your planner for honest feedback.
Are there affordable luxury venues?
Yes — look at off-season dates, weekday weddings, and lesser-known gems outside the most famous areas. Val d'Orcia and Lucca often offer better value than Florence.
